i didnt post them i just said that because sony refuted it doesnt mean anything. You didnt dismiss them, you posted a link of sony attempting to refute or dismiss them.Truth is niether of know the truth so lets wait til its out.Its not good to paint a group of people with one brush...All im saying is if i were to label you as "all you Sony" fans" my suspension or ban would be immediate so lets leave that stuff aside.ME and many other people including you are guilty of lableing fans and all that does it start flamewars...

When sony dismisses something about there own console you won't find many questioning them. There aint gonna be any downgrades.I posted a link about a sony spokesman because they are credible.Would you prefer a third party link?

point taken...not worthy enough to argue to this extent. All im saying is just because sony dismises it doesnt mean it is over and done with.

That's a good link you posted by the way. It's nice to see people who dole out all that cash won't be getting outdated technology.I must admit I'm not surprised at all.Sony is a founder of hdmi, so It's common sense that would happen.

really i don't see to many downgrades in the future i see maybe somenew things that will take the place of things replaced for example less on the bluray and more usb ports the only thing that ken kutaragi haz karai and philip harrison has hinted at is an external powerbrick. but other than that i think it is to late to do anything major

Rumors are just rumors, and should be taken lightly. Furthermore, those rumors were started by a source that was far from credible, and Sony dispelled them. This should be case closed until the ps3 hits the market or Sony releases updated system specs, if they even need to. According to Sony, they don't need to, so lets give it a rest.

i mean with the ps3s price there better not be any major downgrades unless it is to lower the price even if there were downgrades it would be so minor that the gameplay would be the same.

ps3 production was slated for july. i hope by then they will accualy updrade the controller
with immersions new touchsense, since time is still on there side for the time being. sony
needs to say "f*** it" and learn to pay some god d***ed royalties (pardon my language
consisting of stars). look at all the propriatary formats and things sony keeps trying to use,
like beta, atrac, bluray, etc. please for all of our sakes pay atleast this simple and enjoyable
    royalty.

@LexZ: I'm glad you're excited about HDMI 1.3 in the PS3 but unless you're thinking of upgrading your audio setup for Dolby Tru-HD and DTS-HD or unless you have a high-end 1080p HD display - it won't really mean that much in practical terms.

At least they made the PS3 future-proof - until version 1.4 comes out.

That setup sounds awesome lexz but 1080p is very ...very hard to find in smaller sizes. With that type of setup it looks like you will be able to take advantage of everything the 1.3 spec has to offer.

The smallest 1080p tv as far as I know is the Westinghouse 37" LVM-37W1 = sells for around $1,200 refurbished:

    http://www.westinghousedigital.com/pc-26-7-37-1080p-monitor.aspx

I'm still doing research on receivers/preamp-processors that will do HDMI 1.3, DD-TruHD and DTS-HD but expect those to run in the $1000 range or more. Add to that the cost of new speakers to take you to 7.1 channels.

yeah I'm not wealthy or anything. In fact I will struggle to get a ps3 alone...if I even get one.But if you guys can afford that kinda money all the best to you.

Thats' a great link I can't recall seeing a smaller one. Most of the ones I saw were 42",55",60"...etc.

I personally was never an audio freak myself. With me I can't even hear the difference between different audio specs but everyone's different.
