    Microsoft is not seeing the firmware as many of you think. They just basically know who is using backups and who is not. The method? No one really knows and no one is going to risk their job for nothing. The new update is not just an update obviously.

    I have now been banned. Going to sell my xbox and probally don't buy a new one.
    If the new fw protect you from being banned, then I will buy a new one.

    There will be firmware that comes out that will supposedly be undetectable, but just a matter of time before MS will ban you for that-especially if you have been banned before.

    Yes I know, the LT (lite touch). But if I buy a new xbox and flash it with that fw and create a new gamer profile, I don't think the risk of being banned is higher just because I have been banned before.

    i disconnected my hdd and ensured a non live profile auto signs in and I can still play games off hdd, and have DIVX =)

    Here are the NPD numbers for U.S. console hardware sales in Oct 2009:

    * Wii: 506,900
    * Nintendo DS: 457,600
    * PlayStation 3: 320,600
    * Xbox 360: 249,700
    * PSP: 174,600
    * PlayStation 2: 117,800

    I see why MS decided to do something this drastic to increase the sales of their console. After this mass banning, it will be interesting to see if 360 sales increase next month or if the PS3 will dominate due to angry (banned) 360 owners.

    Test/spare unit thats always offline. Plugged it online for the first time today to check for ban and was banned. No game was in the drive. This leads me to believe that 1) I was flagged days ago (but I survived wave 3 bannning)or 2)FW is detectable.

    i have 100% survived the ban wave as my xbox is offline and will stay disconnected forever... i will install any dash updates by usb thumbdrive...

    i may even go to the radical step of squirting superglue into the network port so as no one will ever accidently connect a net cable..

    THEREFOR I HAVE SURVIVED AND MY CONSOLE WILL NEVER BE INFORMED IT IS BANNED !

    ....aye, i agree. well this post has a good run. I sent enough info to the scene. To my findings though...people that have stealth patched correctly (as well as flash) has in fact been banned. Some people who flashed and stealth patched other people's boxes (ie: girlfriends, children, etc) have random banning. This leads me to believe that its (for now) random bannings but eventually they are TRYING to get everyone in due time. I hope thats not the case. I haven't flashed my drive (unflashable liteon) but I want to help out the scene.

    To me at this point, it may be something M$ is doing to check flashes OR a new stealth check that we don't know about. I wonder what c4eva plays (if he does) on those 360's he has that are not banned. If he doesn't really play much with them then that leads me to believe that its a new stealth check. If ANYONE has the opportunity, ask c4eva what games have he been playing lately and if it is original back ups... this may solve our case.

    I have not been banned yet.

    - Drive type: Early Lite-on
    - iXtreme version: 1.4 > 1.5 > 1.51 > 1.6
    - Date of flash: Early 2009
    - Was connected to PC SATA?: Yes
    - Flash powered by: Connectivity Kit
    - ABGX verification: Level 3
    - Location: USA
    - Played early games: Never
    - Activate ISO: Never

    - 120GB HDD mod
    - Installed any games to HDD: Every new game I play.

    I'm going sacrifice myself here for the greater good and try activate.iso with COD:MW2. I figured if I'm going to get banned I should get some playtime before I get banned and if I do get banned it'll be on friday the 13th =). I'll update if anything juicy happens.

    I've not really gone online alot since getting 360, but my son has, so I've decided to keep it disconnect, because I love watching movies via my external hard drive with 360.

    Banned: no
    Drive type: Ms25
    Firmware: 1.6 Ixtreme
    Date of flash: April 09 (Somewhere around here)
    Flash procedure: Used xbox to power the drive to flash.
    Way of acquiring of games: Torrents
    Activate.iso and wave 4: no
    verification: ABGX w/ auto fix 3
    Installed games to hdd: no
    Played games early: no
    Games played online: Few, mainly COD4.

    Before I ever went on live, I flashed my drive w/ Xtreme not Ixtreme, 5.2 firmware, and would play my games for a bit from there, I even played some games from Xtreme 5.2 online w/o a problem and w/o getting banned. After I felt that I want to play wave 3 games, I upgraded to 1.6 and started playing all my games that are stealth patched. Good luck to all, Btw, I doubt they can read your drive, otherwise I would have been banned anytime now since i've been playing online on COD4 during this entire banwave, I have yet to touch any new games that have been released and I tend to stick to 1 game at a time until I play around 1-2 hours of it. Good luck to all, sorry to hear you guys getting banned. (My Suggestion: Burn your own discs, verify them yourself, stealth patch them yourself, and never, ever play a game early regardless if you are offline (unless you don't care about live then by all means ignore this suggestion).)

    Edit 11/15/09: Banned as of today, I really could care less about live though as well as installing games to the hd. So yea, Good luck all. =)
