So i was wondering what changes, if any, people have made in their lifestyles in recent months. I bought a lot less christmas presents this year, myself and my friends agreed not to buy for each other, so we only bought for family and extended family this year. I have cut down on my alcohol consumption, and now go out about 20% as much as i was last year. I find myself much more aware of what i am buying in the supermarket, and am buying more 'own brand' products rather than brand names. I am still inclined to buy ecologically friendly products and organic, but price is more of a factor, and if they are twice the price of the ordinary product, i won't buy them anymore. I am also more inclined to walk instead of using the car for short journeys and have been using less petrol. Anybody else been making any changes?
limited myself to the one credit card for PURE emergencies only, cut up the rest! and pretty much the same as you really, down on alcohol and social activited... not that i'm about to become a hermit though! there is plenty to do without splashing the cash!
I have not really cut down on much, but I have always been pretty cheap and saved a lot lol. I have been cutting back on the smoking that saves a ton of money in the long run.
I've made a few changes. Taking lunch to work a few times a week instead of eating out everyday, Watching what I spend at the grocery store, buying things in bulk and watching for the sales and stocking up on them. Cutting back on the amount of dvd's I buy. The really big one though is to quit smoking, That would easily save me about 100.00 or so a month. And same as you Eva, only bought presents for my family and exteneded family.
Hi, I encouraged endo to make his coffee (starbucks brand) instead of going to Starbucks (or was that Megabucks ?) . He saves about $9 a week ! Jo
Although there are several better reasons to quit smoking, I did last month. Needing to save money in this economy was the "straw that broke the camel's back", especially since my company announced the need for a 1 week furlough (unpaid) for every employee in the first quarter of the year. (needed to avoid layoffs) I estimate that I am saving $1400.00 USD per year in direct costs alone, and will glean the additional savings in the immediate/short term. Decreased lottery ticket purchases/impulse spending by not making trips to the mini mart/gas station for cigarettes. - $1000-1500 per year. Life insurance reduction after 1 year tobacco free - $1500.00 per year in premiums. Also bring leftovers to work for lunch 4-5 times a week instead of 0 or 1. $7.00 a day savings.
Hi everyone, endo was telling me about "Chinese Valentine's Day". So I asked him what's that all about ? My endo says, "Mi amor, the usual Valentine's day is on the 14th and roses and candy are sky high. But just 12 short hours later on the 15th,all the prices will be half off, so I can afford to lavish you with both roses and candy, plus I have saved enough to take you out for dinner as well (without breaking the bank). That endo sure is clever ! Sounds like I can have my cake and eat it too ! He also mentioned something about Chinese Christmas (wonder what's that all about ?) Jo
I could have you a custom sign made up "Please do not enter this area for at least 15 mins after LOCO has left" LOL
You could try lighting a scented candle with a lighter, but i guess that costs too much money for you too! lmao!
That reeks! How about Man Whoring? Apparently my town has hit major news this week. Hear about the 4th grade school teacher/prostitute? She was meeting guys on craigslist and using the school computers,LOL! Her school is only 1/4 mile down the road from my job. I also went to school with her ex husband, LOL! Looks like it even made international news: http://www.google.com/hostednews/canadianpress/article/ALeqM5gsedPbQbX_wmq0-MT0CW2Rqc2IUw By the looks of her mugshot, she probably didn't charge much, LOL! She looks almost as bad as the Serial Killing Prostitute in the movie "Monster"! Pretty FUGLY!
