This is my very first laptop. it has a webcame but no instructuions how to use it. can you help? Its a T-1625 Gateway.
no idea about Dells, but our new HP notebook had a program already pre-installed with it to use it. Also, it recognized it and turned it on automatically when i used a webcam chat in AOL Instant Messenger. In other words, it should work by itself when prompted to via a program that uses it. It should be working out of the box, and if its not, it should have software that came with it to get it up and running, whether it be on a cd or previously installed (or an installer).
If I recall correctly, USB webcams are just plug and play,and they'll work off the bat. The software that comes with them is usually just capture software so you can make video files out of what it records.
