Well I had made a video with my webcam and it was a working avi. Later on my computer crashes and I format the HD but am able to restore the avi file with recovery software. I reinstalled all the codecs I once had but the avi file is not recognized by any media players and I can't check the properties. I have tried converting the file to other media files and still nothing. All I was able to get was the first frame from the video but nothing plays. Any ideas on how to get the avi working?
sounds like the recovery program didnt recover all try using avi fixed to repair it http://www.divx-digest.com/software/avifix.html
Well I used the program and it gave some errors at different frames. It looks like it plays a few more frames now but thats it. Guess there is no way of repairing the file
