I have this video clip that I have found on a web site and I want to download it to a mpeg video format. How would i go about doing so? What software would i need?

You must know that the process is made in three steps: 1) converting (movie 'container' ---> video + audio) 2) authoring [video + audio ---> DVD files: IFO & BUP (DVD information files) + large VOBs ( = Video Object)] 3) burning IFO; BUP, VOB --> \video_ts folder in a DVD Anyway, TMPGenc Plus is one the most versatile applications to convert AVI, WMV, MOV and so on (maybe using some plugins) to DVD. More, it can change from one TV system to another (PAL <--> NTSC). There are lots of guides on this site. But you should learn a little about movies, first (framerate, audio typs, sampling rate, movies resolution, bitrate encoding modes [VBR, CBR] and so on).
