    Yesterday, I backed up Wedding Crashers, 40 Year Old Virgin, and The Skeleton Key using AnyDVD & CloneDVD2 with no problems. My wife watched the first 2 and said they were fine. I only back up the main movie as I'm not interested in the other stuff on the DVD.

    Hello I am definately a newbie and trying to understand more of the technical stuff, but anyways. I was able to make a back up of Wedding Crashers with Anydvd running in the background and opening it with DVDshrink and burned it with Nero6, the only other thing I did was illiminate anything that did not say English. I am watching the movie now and have no problems.

    I burned the Wedding Crashers 4 times, the first 3 had bad glitching in certain chapters (10, 11). So on the last burn I had anydvd running in the background, opened with dvd shrink, and burned with nero. Just like you said it works perfectly. Hope this post helps others out as well. Thanks alot.

    Cheers

    Hey guys, i tried using everything and i still cant get wedding crashers to backup.

    I tried dvd shrink and stomp recordnow. I tried dvd43 and 1clickdvdcopy. i tried dvd43 with anydvd and dvdfab and it backed up with dvdfab but when i go to burn it, it says the file is too large...?

    Im trying dvd decrypter now and im going to try burning it with nero like you guys did...

    Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Also, what media is best to use? Im using sony...

    PS: Cave wont work either :(.

    I just burned the uncorked version on the HP system in my sig using Patin-Couffinv0.19, DVD43v1.4, Shrinkv3.1.7.5, Nero6.3.1.12 with no problems. I eliminated foreign languages, & reduced the worthless menus & extras to still pictures w/o sound to get the main movie up to ~51% compression.

    On a side note:
    The special features disc (Target exclusive) is a DVD, but it's only 438M. Can I burn the DVD files to a CD & play it, or is it more complicated? I don't want to waste a DVD for ~1/2 a CD worth of data.

    I found with the lastest new releases, they rip better with DVDfab decrypter(google for it and it's free), open with your dvd shrink, and burn with nero. Stealth, Sky High, Valiant, and Madagascar will not work dvdfab or dvd shrink. Let us know if it helps your problem....

    I used dvdidle with anydvd running in the background, opened with dvd shrink, and burned with nero. Make you if you get it to burn to check chapters 10 and 11 for glitches. It took me 4 tries to get a clean burn.

    Wedding Crashers, Valiant, and Madagascar worked fine here with dvdfab/DVD Shrink. i do all my dvd burns via Nero 6.x and while i've read a few posts about glitches with Wedding Crashers, i watched mine thru fine the other day..

    thank you.

    When you burn it with Nero, which options do you select?

    Ok, i would appreciate it if you guys could tell me what im doing wrong.

    I open up DVDFab

    I pop in Wedding Crashers or The Cave.

    I make the Target folder (Wedding Crashers or The Cave) on my hard drive and i press start.

    When its finished, i open up DVD shrink, i go to open files i think it is, and i select the audio and video folders and it shrinks them.

    Then i tried burning it with NERO but it failed (Maybe im using the wrong settings?)

    I also tried burning with Stomp RecordNow and it didnt work. Or sometimes it just works in the computer, but not in my dvd player.

    I appreciate your help.

    @kornacus -

    all fine up to Shrink, you just need the video_ts folder (the audio_ts folder is always empty, ignore that one); in Nero Burning Rom open a new compilation of type 'DVD Video' then drag the video_ts folder to left pane in Nero then just burn

    When it pops up asking where you want it to go make sure the top folder is the burning folder and the bottom is C: drive, that way when you get to burning it will automatically do it for you. That is how mine works, maybe yours works different. I hope that helps some.

    @69burner

    Go to google and do a search for dvdfab decrypter. It should pop right up for you. If not let me know and I will see if I can find it for you.

    My method -

    1 - Dvdshrink (recode/encode)
    2 - Dvddecypter (burn)

    My copy turned out good (proper chapter navigation, chapter 10 is fine). Note that I reauthored only the main movie.

    My question -

    1 - Why do some members have trouble with this film while others have success?

    Thanks!

    Just did Wedding Crashers twice.One to DL and other to single layer. The DL I did with Any DVD running in the background and DVD Dekrypter making sure to shut off Any DVD when burning.NERO seems to have trouble with the layer breaks and gives a poorer quality reading. I burn the DLs at 2.4x. I then burn't the single layer with ANY DVD running in the back ground any DVD Dekrypter to NERO Recode2 any NERO burning Rom using Alkohols guide.I've been burning the single layer at 4x using the Verbatims. I found if I have Any DVD running when I'm burning it takes away the quality. As Alkohol says I get nice and smooth movies this way that keeps my original movies safe.
