All I could come across is Staple's ad:

HP- regular dvd media 50 pack spindle for $14.94
HP lightscribe: 25 pack spindle for $17.94

Hopefully bestbuy or office depot has something better!

    Thanks saugmon.

I am some what patiently waiting for the Sony 50 packs to go on sale again. That's about the last of the local Taiyo Yuden media around me. Plus I have some gift cards burning a hole in my pocket.

Best Buy is going to have the Fuji's 50 pack for $14.99 + tax
Office Max is having the Dual-Layer Verbatim 10 disk pack for $19.99 + tax.

Most of the Fuji's at the Best Buy near my area are now Made in Taiwan. No more Made in Japan Tayo Yuden disks :-(

Those fuji's are the same way here fljoe. Made in taiwan on all their different quantity batches, UGGH! If they checked out as ritek-r03 then those should be pretty good.

My local staple's is sitting on the motherload of Japanese fuji's in the 30 pack spindles. I'm still waiting for those to go on sale.

i'm waiting for the pretty colored discs Fuji 30-pack @ Staples myself...those were the ONLY ones available locally for me that were Taiyo Yuden discs...it's a shame that this is so widespread...wish another shipment from Japan would come in for 2006~, that would make it a good beginning of a new year~ :)

    docTY~

Office Depot is offering Maxell +/-R 50 pack for $14.99 each. They are regularly $39.99 a pack. I've used them before and they were pretty good. I still have 2 packs of the +R's that I bought during the last sale.

Fuji MIJ's are really hard to find here in NC now. Bj's has been picked clean by someone who shall remain nameless, Best buy only has the MIT's, so I am almost afraid to say that this era has passed into the sunset. Supermediastore.com here I come.
Does anyone know what the new Office Max 16X made in Taiwan DVD's code out to? Their previous manufacturer for the 8X was in India and they were pathetic.

Good Luck finding 50 Pack MIJ Fujis in Best Buy. Arghhh!
However, remember this:If you have a Local Best Buy that carries the Fuji Colored 30 packs for $9.99, Staples WILL Price Match them 110%.
My Local Staples has Plenty of MIJ Colored 30 packs of Fujis.

People, I just went on a scavenger hunt in my area & ALL the Fuji 50 packs at Best Buy are MITs.Both formats, DVD-R & DVD+R. Arghh! There are still those Fuji MIJ Colored 30 packs for $9.99. Staples will price match Best Buy 110%,So you CAN get these for $9.49 for 30 TYs if you can find them. Not the best week for media sales. Oh well, maybe next week.

@saugmon: Those RiData's are R02, I have them and bought those like a month ago, have like 40 left, those are what I'm burning with and the ones described in my sig. They're not RITEK, they're RICOHJPN, R02-02.

    Directly from DVD Decrypter:

    [bold]LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1693S KS06 (ATA)
    Current Profile: DVD+R

    Disc Information:
    Status: Empty
    Erasable: No
    Free Sectors: 2,295,104
    Free Space: 4,700,372,992 bytes
    Free Time: 510:03:29 (MM:SS:FF)
    Supported Write Speeds: 6x, 8x

    Physical Format Information (ADIP):
    Disc ID: RICOHJPN-R02-03
    Book Type: DVD+R
    Part Version: 1
    Disc Size: 120mm
    Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified
    Number of Layers: 1
Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP)
    Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit
    Track Density: 0.74 um/track
First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608
Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 2,491,711
Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0[/bold]

These discs work better than good, they might only support 6X and 8X but DVD Decrypter will burn them lower too, and even when they burn at 6X for me(Alcohol 120%, Nero), I get NO errors ever, no coasters so far, I've burnt about 40 PS2 games, 10 data discs(DivX) at a full 8X and about 10 DVD movies in Nero at 6X and they all work and read perfectly.

nothing wrong with 6x and 8x, i personally found the 1693S's firmware to be a little odd in regards to burn speed choices (ie limited when compared to other burners/other burners' firmware). For the few days i had my 1693S's, i tweaked a couple MID codes' burn speeds to have more flexible burn speeds via omnipatcher..which did the trick

Has ANYONE bought any of those New Fuji MITs? The ones that are 16x? What to they code as? I may buy some since that's all that seems available now. BUT, would like to know who makes those first. If they're RITEK, that would be acceptable. I don't know who makes these. Anyone?

I don't think the 16x are Ritek. Maybe Philips/CMC...I believe that is what kivory666 had said the new dye was. Not worth it in my opinion. I'm holding out for the Ty's somewhere.
