I seem to be having more and more weird dreams at night. Like once I had a dream where deadly spiders took over my entire school and I avoided them by standing horizontally on the building walls (sort of like spiderman but standing up straight as if gravity was working at right angles). Or another when I was getting film developed (in my dream) and woke up and no one was around, I walked home to find on one and then some animals talked to me and I followed them out to sea where the boat capsized in heavy weather and we landed on a random island (long sentence i know). It got me wondering, does anyone ever have really weird dreams? If you are willing to share, I'd love to hear them.
Yea, I have weird dreams all the time. I've found that dreams can be influenced by things you eat, medicine you take, and things that happen to you through out the day. What was a typical day like for you when you had those dreams? What did you eat right before you went to bed? Are you taking any kind of medication?
I typically have bizarre dreams after a hard night of drinking lol. Goodswipe is right, a lot of factors can lead to intense/weird dreams. For whatever reason, I tend to have a lot of crazy dreams about my ex girlfriend (take that for whatever you will). Most of the time she ends up dead and I wake up (take that as you will also!) LOL!
Whenever I take sleeping pills, I have nightmares. I'm talking really bad ones. Sometimes I'll wake up all tripped out and my heart is racing. The worst ones are the ones where you running from someone and you can't get away, then that melts into another nightmare and the cycle continues.
The feeling I hate is when you feel like you are falling, even though your butt is firmly planted in the middle of the bed! That seems to happen to me rather often, not sure if that is typical or I am just special lol.
I've had those before. Crazy part is that you can actually feel butterflies in your stomach. Falling Dreams Sounds like you are insecure to me svtstang!
o rly? Interesting read, I always question how exactly these people come to their conclusions about the underlying meaning behind dreams and the like. Guess I should go see a shrink now
omg, your a genius. I just realised that most of my dreams are on nights before tests when I have taken sleeping pills. Most of them are about people dieing in strange ways. Although I never seem to be able to die... does anyone have any idea why you cant die in your dreams? has anyone died? i mean, if you were about to die in your dream, do you just wake up?
What kind of sleeping meds were they. I found that different ones effect me differently. If I take Seroquel they aren't nearly as bad. If I take full strength Unisom, which has 50 mg of Doxylamine, I have the worst nightmares ever. I've never experienced death in any of my dreams. I've been shot at, shot, stabbed, attacked, thrown off a cliff, and a bunch of other weird ass things, but never actually died in my dream. You take them on nights right before a test, you are probably stressed out right? Makes sense to me.
kateman, in 1 dream i had i was hit by a shotgun blast to the chest, everything went white then i wokeup, startled but not screaming.
In the health food stores, there exists a suppliment called 5-HTP, that is 5- hydroxytryptophan. This naturally occuring material acts as a mood elevator(as prozac, zoloft style ssri's, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors). While not as potent as the ssri's, 5-HTP affects you in that you can recall your dreams better. Remember in order to recall a dream, you have to wake up in some part of it. No prescription necessary and is OTC. This is not intended to be medical advice nor is it to treat any condition. This information is available universally and can be googled.
the one i take is stilnox (zolpidem) there are so many reports about people who take them and (while asleep) take showers, drive cars, catch trains, start cooking, etc. so many law suites, so little time lol the worst sleepwalking i've ever done is run into a wall (without sleeping tablets) but my friend once got out of bed, walked down the corridor, sat down on a chair, shook his leg around and said "the monkeys are on my leg, get the monkeys off my leg" - funniest thing ever to see
Yea, I think that's the case with lots of other sleep meds. I've heard of the same situation with Ambien.
here is a list of MY weird dreams. lol. please comment. 1) fell off a building and never, ever hit the ground. i had the weird feeling like my stomach was lifting up. (like when you go over a hill in a car.) apparently i woke up at 8 AM to find that i had this dream since about 11:00 pm. i fell for over 6 hours. xD 2) being chased by mutant lobsters who wanted me to buy a microwave. (probably from that incident with the telemarketer trying to sell me a microwave at 11 PM... 3) in a large corridor in my high school trying to run away from a silhouette. i was trying to run away, but i was running slowly, almost as if in slow motion... 4) i...was...a...fork...lol...i know retarded, not weird... 5) i killed my mom, because i was mad at her...i woke up overwhelemed with tears,a big fright, and with a frantically pumping heart, and i was sweating. i love my mom. i was thinking about that for days. i was afraid that it was foreshadowing, and that i really WAS gonna kill my mom. i felt really afraid for a while. i became paranoid for a week or two before i told my mom about it. basically i was a wreck. couldn't concentrate in school or anything. this was the worst dream anyone could ever have. so there u go...5 dreams that are weird, scary, and retarded...i know my dreams are screwed up...don't remind me. but please comment.
reminds me of a dream someone else had of me. they told me they were talking to me, but i was a bin lol i'd like to know what Goodswipe would make of that (in terms of symbolism)
