I softmodded a friends xbox with no issues using the Splinter Cell softmod. Works great. I want to put a bigger HDD in it but the one I have will not lock with xboxhdm 1.9. Says it does not support the ATA security. This isn't an issue since the lock is for xbox live and for accessing msdash. I only want this thing to have the EVOX dash on it but for some reason I can't get this figured out.

I have Slayers 2.7 and AID 4.10 at my disposal along with the other normal apps.

Any help would be appreciated. It is a v1.4 box.

    Thanks

Are you trying to use a Maxtor drive? Most of the Maxtors don't work, buy Seagate or WD...

As for not needing it locked, unless you have a modchip, YES YOU DO!!!

    Chunkhead,

Thanks for the help. But another question if you don't mind.

Can I use my modded xbox with Xecuter 3 chip and put the HDD in there and load it up and lock it and then transfer it to the 1.4 box? Mine is a 1.6. Basically want to know if it is possible to take the Seagate or WD HDD that isn't lockable through xboxhdm and put it in my chipped modded xbox, load it up from there with the dashboard, etc., lock it in my modded xbox and then take it out and put it in the other xbox that is softmodded?

Possible or not? And if so, do you know what I need to do to get it done?

    Thanks,

    Flandrel

No, it will be locked to the wrong Xbox when you transfer it back and give you an Error 6!
