    Hi
Am experiencing a very weird problem with my Starview Box. Its an original (7 x 25 vents) and was working fine until the new update a few months ago. Since then the box works fine for about 30 secs then it changes channel and powers itself off!! I think it is probably a bad flash upgrade. Any ideas how I can completetely erase the existing contents on the flash rom, and then reload the latest firmware??

no need to erase anything just load the latest firmware again, you propably allready have the crypstarv1.4 genuine on maybe it was a bit corrupt,so give it another go.

    Hi
I have tried a few versions of the firmware, but not this one - is this one the very very latest? Can you tell me where to get it, and should I use the GTROM loader to load it as usual??

    Thanks

    Ok will try that.
Is this problem unique - or has it a common problem?
    Thanks

press menu system info and tell me what firmware you have on your box as i have a feeling you have the wrong firmware on.

i was wrong then just try the crypstar then note when you download it onto your box it will say the same in your system info ie ver 4.00 7 jun 07 as the name hasn't been changed on the new firmware

Updated the box but still no luck. This time it happened when searching for channels.
I think its a power issue maybe overloading? As I mentioned the box is ok for about 30secs then the picture breaks up, then the display shows '5' in some cases then it goes off (and stays off even though it is powered on).
