Hi I have never seen this before. I was using a program called ProShow Producer to create photo presentations and it has the usual right-click option to open another window, so a new window pops out. Until now, it all worked fine and the new window opened fine. But for no good reason, now the new window opens about 25% outside the desktop space!! I cannot see the upper-left area so I cannot move/drag it back down in full view. Its just stuck there and doesn't move until I press 'done' on the bottom right of the program or the 'esc' key. I have tried virus scans, spyware scans, monitor configuration, but nothing works, whenever I right-click in that program and choose 'slide options', it opens that way and doesn't move. This happens only in this program. Any suggestions? PLEASE help.
On a scale of 1-10 what would you rate your knowledge of the registry? I ask because you'll need to modify some 'DWORD' values.
Hi Niobis, My knowledge of registry must be about 4-5. I have previously run regedit and looked around and sometimes, followed instructions to alter or amend it. Hence I am comfortable with handling it as long as I have very clear instructions. While I am writing, do you know of any tutorial(videos, if possible) where I can learn about the registry? Thanks Heaps for your time.
Actually, never mind my previous post. I'm jumping to conclusions. It may be possible to set it back to default by uninstalling and re-installing the program. Edit: Google is your friend...and it knows much. I got 1,800,000(estimated) results by searching 'registry tutorial'. I'm sure you can find a few that will be of assistance if you want to learn.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling ProShow two times but the problem doesn't change!! I find it really weird. Have also tried antivirus and spyware but nothing has come up. Thanks a lot for your time though.
Try cleaning the leftover keys. Uninstall ProShow Producer and restart. Open Registry Edit and click File > Export and save the .reg in My Documents. Make sure My Computer is highlighted in the left pane. Press Ctrl+F to open Search. Search for 'proshow' Delete any and all keys(folder icon) with that name. Press F3 to find the next result for ProShow. When it has found all you will be prompted click OK. Make sure My Computer is selected. Bring up search again and search for 'photodex' Do the same for all the search results. When finished close Registry Edit and restart your computer. Then, Go here and download CCleaner. Close all windows. Open CCleaner. Click "Issues". Do not modify the default settings for the Issues fix. Click "Scan for Issues" After scan, if anything was found click "Fix selected issues...". When prompted click "Yes" to backup the registry. Then, click "Fix all selected issues". While you have it open clean temp files and cookies. Click Options > Advance > uncheck "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours". Click Cleaner > Run Cleaner. Reinstall Proshow Producer and see if that helped.
Hi Niobis Many Thanks for those instructions. Awesome stuff you have got there. But I need just a little time to go through those steps. Will let you know what happened. Best Wishes
