hey i'm kinda new here - and i was wondering if it was possible to change that chime you get at the beginning of login and logout. the standard windows xp sound is annoyin me and i jus wanted to know if was possible to change it
yes there is a way. Go to Control Panel - Sounds and Audio Devices - Go to the Sounds Tab and then you'll see all of Windows sounds. Look for Windows Logoff and Logon and Select Browse and select what sound you want.
hey thnx 4 that but when i tried that - its seemed to be the short sounds - as if your just switching user - not that annoyin full length one. also is it possible to change the login sound?
The sounds you're talking about could be the "Start Windows" and "Exit Windows" under the Sounds Tab but not sure.
under that same menu (CP>sounds and audio devices>sounds tab) look for Windows Logon and Windows Logoff and you can change or disable it
break123, What a good question.. thats one of them everyday annoying things with XP that we all want to change.. i didnt even know you could change it!
