Since I have been running into media problems and burn speeds with my Memorex drives, thinking about trading them in for newer ones at a local Best Buy. These are their choices:

    - Pioneer DVR-A09XLC
    - Plextor PX-716A
    - Sony DRU-720A

    Any thoughts on these drives?

I'm running sony dru710A fastest you can burn for dvd's is 6X on verbatum (MCC003). Any thing anyfaster and the errors go through the roof. The tests I've seen on the other 2 drives look good. Check out BenQ some people swear by them.

    Good Luck

Just got a Plextor 716A a few weeks ago and it is great, burns at 16X if I let it, really lives up to specs, and the Plex tools give you all the needed info. IMO I highly recommend this drive
