    This is actually a 3-fold question.

    [1]
    First off, what files are involved in a VCD.
    Just WHAT are the contents of CDI, EXT, MPEGAV, SEGMENT, and VCD and how/what are their contents made and formed ?

    [2]
    I am very interested in the prospect of there being some type of machine-code being available for the VCD so SOMEONE could build a player that runs half speed so a movie could be encoded running at double speed and single audio to yield a movie to a single VCD that exceeds 70min.

    [3]
    Is there some program out that already does this cleanly, that is, is a rewrite of the original "player" on the VCD and yields double playing time at a possible cost to video quality and/or audio ?

    * Okay, I'll bite.
    What is KVCD and where can I find the software for burning it ?

    Is this a format that DVD players can play cause that is the end result I'm wanting here.

    Ye a lot of DVD players will play it, basically all it is, is non standard VCD with some changes made to the quantize matrix and resolutions. All the info you need should be on that site!
