Question: I rip DVD movies using Eazy VCD and then it automatically Encodes the ripped DVD with TMPGEnc for an mpeg 1 movie. My question is what do I need to do now in order to make a working VCD to use on a DVD player?

My bad, the program I use are Eazy VCD and TMPGEnc to rip the DVD and also have Nero and RecordNow Max, but I get a little lost using RecordNow Max since Im new to using it...what do I need to do in order to make a working VCD, so far I have 2 mpeg 1 files that are 600+ megs that need to get converted. Do I need to extract the wav out of the mpeg file and then make the 600 meg mpeg file into a 31+gig avi file just to convert it down like in the Dirtual Dub? Any answers would REALLY help...

IF the files you have are mpeg 1 then they should be vcd compliant, just use nero to burn them as vcd's there is an option to do this in the new compilation window, just scroll down the icons on the left hand side till you find vcd.

I ripped the VCD, but it gives me like 5 sub menus, CDI, EXT, MPEGAV, Segment, and then VCD in Nero. I clicked on VCD and it has sub menus that are CDI, EXT, MPEGAV, Segment and VCD also...then when I drag and drop it in the main menu, (the mpeg) it gives me an analyzing dialog that takes a minute and then it shows up as my mpeg is ready to rip...my question is, am I missing something here? When I ripped the cd it didnt show up on my ps2 player (i use it for dvds also) and my home dvd player. My home DVD player shows track 1 for a split second and then says "no disc"...grrr, im confused.

the five sub menus are required for making a vcd they MUST to be there. I dont think ps2 supports vcd, (not a ps2 expert) have you played vcd's in a your dvd player before?
to check the disk itself download the demo of cyberlinks powerdvd and play the disk in disk mode if it plays ok there may be a problem with compatibility between the disk and your dvdplayer if so try different brand of media and different burning speeds (4x or lower)

yeah, it does work in power dvd 3.0. When I click file mode or regular mode it works fine. I understand about the ps2, I use it cause its progressive scan and its better than my home DVD player. My home DVD player is a shitty ass GTE series DVD player that doesnt say it supports vcd/svcd on the outside. I know my sisters dvd player supports vcd/svcd cause it says right on the outside that it does, think I should try her DVD player cause my two dvd players suck?
