I stopped trying to copy big booty bc I had too much booty than I could handle. So now I am just trying to copy a reg DVD5. I was using fujifilm media, but I changed bc nothing was working with that. It was error after error. Now I am using Maxell. The process is getting further than it was with the Fuji, however, there is still an error. It is a different error, but still an error. I updated the firmware and everything. Can someone please help, brobear or someone??? Thanks

Are you getting the error during transcoding or burrning?

Are you reading the DVD your trying to copy with the Samsung DVD-ROM? Because in the nero LOG DMA is set to off on that drive.

    CdRomPeripheral : SAMSUNG DVD-ROM SD-616T atapi Port 1 ID 1 DMA: Off

This should be set to ON. I duno if this is your problem but it could be. To set it back to DMA: ON do the below.

    Start/Control Panel/System/Hardware Tab/Device Manager/IDE Controlers

Once you clcik on the IDE controlers it will branch out with Primary and Secondary channels. Check each channel make sure they are in DMA mode if avvilable. If 1 is set to PIO mode then you need to place it in DMA mode. If it wont go into DMA mode then uninstall the channel that is in PIO mode and restart your computer. I will reinstall the channel and drive automaticly for you putting it back into DMA mode.

Like I said I dont know if this is the cause of the problem but you do need that drive in DMA mode.

Mind you, it is getting farther than it did yesterday, while using the fuji media. All this just started happeneing. I used to could burn just fine. I don't know what is going on. Please help.

I have an LG GSA-4166B. I am using 1.02 firmware. I am trying to copy a DVD that was recorded directly from video camera onto DVD. So yeah, I'm stumped.

No, its a regular DVD. 4.7GB. I have burned them before on this burner all of a sudden..after about three weeks or a month of no use, it wont burn them any more.

    [bold]Physical memory : 126MB (129840kB)
    Free physical memory: 43MB (44996kB)
    Memory in use : 65 % [/bold]

To have a successful burn to need a minimum of 512 megs of RAM, so I would suggest that this is adding to your problem.

You could also try updating your Nero to this version http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe

Just doing a quick glance, you need to go into the Device Manager and uninstall the Secondary IDE Channel and reboot. Then check to make sure all your optical drives are in DMA on. Usually uninstalling the Drive will do the trick, but I've found doing the IDE a more sure method. Remember, after rebooting, check to make sure the drives are in DMA On. Then uncheck disc at once, you don't need to be using that. As mentioned before, take a look at the sytem resources you're working with. Do you have enough PC to be burning DVDs? What are the specs on this PC? How much RAM total (we know there isn't much for use right now) If that 126 MB is all you have, you're in serious need of an upgrade. So, here's the list of what we need to know.
    PC brand and model?
How much RAM, total and usable (check with taskmanager)?
What size hard drive and how much of it is free?
What CPU and what is the speed?

I thought someone had suggested you upgrade your Nero before. As pointed out here use the 6.6.0.18 because it's more stable than the last release. When installing the new version, use Neor's Clean Tools, you can get them at the Nero site. Clean up with Nero Clean Tools, then use Disk Cleanup in accessories, and then reboot before doing the install.

I just copied Bad Boys II. It created files in 30 minutes, and wrote it in 10. No problems. I also copied another movie. No problems. So I really think it is the DVDs that I am using. They aren't professional. They are copied directly from a video camera onto disc. I will have to check with them on what format they are using.
