once again it's me and i come to afterdawn asking for help.when i boot up my xbox it's says on the evox dash that my bios are unknown, what are they and do i really need them.some one done the work on the xbox and i can not reach him no more if i do need this is it hard to do.
Bios stands for "Basic Input Output System" Basically, the cpu needs a way of communicating with different hardware devices that are installed, each hardware device has it's own special bios software which allows for this communication. The main bios in the Xbox is stored inside a microchip(Tsop) on the motherboard and it's the first piece of software the Xbox runs when you (boot up) turn it on. Bios unknown doesn't mean that the bios is bad, it just means that the Evox.ini file doesn't have the proper md5 hash. You can use Xbtool to open your bios and find the md5 hash then copy and paste it in the Evox.ini file. Your bios is either 256,512, or 1mb...you can also use a program called bios checker or something like that to check for your bios........Later
