I just looked up something where people had trouble getting their receivers to work, and they had to use keys. Someone also referred to something called a bin that you download. What are the keys and the bin. But what i am really worried about is that if i plugin my receiver will it always work when i get it working or do i always have to be dowloading something to get it working. Is it too much trouble?

no it's not much trouble at all. what receiver do you have? the bin is the file that you write to the receiver, and the keys are the decryption keys needed to unlock the programming for DN
    the current DN keys are:
    Key 0 - F2 98 74 44 1C 65 77 D8
    Key 1 - 17 E3 E1 1D 89 4E 53 45
when the keys change you dont have to download anything, just go online and grab the new keys and put them in using your remote. we used to have bins that autorolled the keys every time they were changed, so we didn't even have ot look them up. i guess since the Niagra2 switch they have had trouble making autoroll bins so we have to input the keys manually, which only takes like 2 minutes.

there are quite a few sites that post them, but if you go to dssevolution.com and download the keyripper it's a nice little program that you run and it goes out online and grabs the new keys for you.
for new keys i use either dssevolution.com or al7bar.tk

thank you for your easy to understand replies. Many other sites forget that there are a lot of newbies visiting these sites that are not true "testers" and don't understand all the terms being used. That being said, I am abviously one of them. Thanks for spelling out the keys so that I can manually install them. My problem is that I live in a very remote area of Canada that does not have telephone service. The poles are in, and I will have service next spring so I so not want to spend a lot of money on Direcway or similar product. I go to library once a week for internet. Question...is there a site where the keys are always posted for manual instal. I could then phone a friend to get them. Downloading on key ripper I don't understand...would my telephone friend have to do this to record keys and telephone me??? many thanks for your patience

dssevolution.com always has the current keys on the front page of the site on the right hand side.
