I just bought the Turtle Beach Advantage USB to back up some soon to be ailing VHS'.

However, I've read that the Cyberlink bundled capture sofware is crap, and that Pinnacle's Studio Plus is desent.

Any suggestions on proven quality capture VHS to DVD software with other features as well?

Thanks for replying, I appreciate your time.

Actually Pinnacle Studio isn"t very Good for Captureing either...
You might even get better results with Cyberlink Power Producer/Director as it"s Mpeg-2 capture is better than pinnacles in My Opinion....

I usually use "InterVideo WinDVR 3.0" for most of my Mpeg-2 captures and the Quality is Pretty good and it is easy to use and after Captureing you can use any DVD Authoring Program to Author the Captured Mpeg-2 files to DVD.....

Thanks... Can you tell me... I'm looking only to capture my current VHS's to DivX on my PC, and watch them on my PC. Will InterVideo WinDVR 3.0 work just to capture VHS's to DivX?

Thanks, I appreciate your time and response.

No it will Not Capture to Divx only to Mpeg-1 or Mpeg-2...

Captureing to DivX can be Difficult because it uses a Lot of CPU Power to compress at Full resolution and for some reason the Quality when Captureing to DivX is a Lot Worse than if you were to encode to DivX....

You can use pretty much Any WDM capture Program to capture to DivX or any AVI format you have Codecs For Like "Virtual-VCR" or "Stoik Capturer" and there are Many others....

    Cheers
