WHAT BOX/ DUBLIN?

    Hi im an NTL customer in dublin
    what is the easiest to use/maintain decoder i can buy to get free channels?

    It depends, a lot of people like the starview, personally i like the replay lite, some people are recommending you should get a linux based box now. :)

    Have a read around the forum, get a few ideas for yourself, they all do basically the same job.

    which box requires the least amount of updating software/ firmware every few months?

    most off the time i updated the firmware on my eurovox was for added improvements,only once was it necessary for code updating,each to there own i prefer eurovox,and have no problem with anyone else's opinion on other boxes and if that makes me a mythbuster well so be it.

    Yep, I must be ranked as a mythbuster too, it's the Eurovox for me, not knocking the Starview range, but for reliability and updating firmware it's spot on. Only one essential update to my knowledge, the rest for user preferences/improvements.

    but (about the starview) theres a thread on here that has complicated instructions for updating the "firmware" which looks like a nightmare

    As i said malci everyone's entitled to there opinion,and the eurovox is totally user friendly.
