what cable for new fix

    hi, i was just about to download all the new software to my sv2, which is 4.51 and 7.0 and an original, when it flashed up serial port connection fail. i was using the null moden rs232f cable. i have used this before to flash a few other sv2's, including the 1 im trying to fix now and has worked fine up to yesterday.

    reboot your computer with the box plugged into the comp and then try again

    rs232 null modem cable db9f - db9f is what u need :)

    no luck, still reading, cant open serial port. ive rebooted the computer, reconnected the leads and even tried it with the box off.

    i had a similar problem with the SV3 what i did was a factory reset then flashed that seemed to of worked also turn off your firewall if you have one and also try turning off your AV just whilst flashing they could be blocking the port

    dont mean to sound daft (probably do though), whats the AV and how do you turn it off?

    nope, no luck. did a factory reset, turned firewall off. still nothing. the serial port has always worked for me in the past with the rs232 lead. is there any other lead i could try?
