To connect my laptop to my flat pannel tv to play games? I know I need? the dvi to dvi cable, but that won't give me sound. There is a single yellow colored jack next to the DVI port on the back of my laptop. Is that for sound? If so, what cable do i need so the sound will run though the tv? How do i swith my display over to the TV...is there a setting in Control Panel?

what kind of flat panel tv. I have a samsung and it supports vga input and then just use a standard line cable, the one that connects your speakers to your pc.If you use dvi you could just go dvi to dvi or you could use s-video.

The yellow cable on your laptop is probably an RCA video-out port. For your purpose, stick with the DVI cable. For audio, you'll need a cable like this (link here).

It will connect from your laptop's headphone jack to the left and right RCA audio-in ports on your TV.
