what chip set do i have

    ok i just got my xbox back from microsoft
    and i wanted to know how i would tell
    what they gave me as far as
    shipset and dvd drive
    can some one help me

    Take of your front faceplate off. Look at the drive there should be a little hole there. If you see white wires you have a benq, Yellow Wires is a lite-on, red and black is a sammy and a plastic piece is a hitachi.

    Far as chipset I have no Idea without cracking it open.

    With a repaired console, usually they keep the same case and send new internals to you. I'd say if you had a 90nm CPU/GPU when you sent it in, they will give you a different 90nm CPU/GPU back. You can look on the back of the console.

    16.5 = Xenon/Zephyr
    14.5 = Falcon
    12.1 = Jasper

    If you get the same case back, would be to crack the case open and look at the heatsinks. Follow necrana's advice about the DVD drive to find out which one you have.

    ok i have a lite-on dvd
    is there any way to rule out a chip set
    knowing that
