can anyone tell me how many ghz the cpu of this pc is .thanks it looks like a deal http://instorespecials.staples.com/...6038&listingid=-2094682891&pretailerid=-99906
1.8GHZ anyways thats a good deal but if u got the cash spend some more on a pc like 500-600 with 1gb ram dual core cpu and stuff
kiss11, reduce your 57,065 byte sig to 50k limit as per forum rules. elokito, reduce your 77,879 byte sig to 50k limit as per forum rules.
I'd almost say thats a good deal, especially with a monitor on that price, but I'm a snob that built his own machine for 5 ± 2 times that amount LOL. Put your own ram in instead of paying for someone to do it. That machine is not "state of the art" or able to play the newest games "at the highest rate" but a good deal still. look into video capabilities B4 spending cash.
Thanks for clarifying my point DDP! Sometime when my ideas and verbal abilities catch up to each other I might help someobody someday....
is there a way i could get all the specs on this machine.if any one could find them please post. thanks
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...t=3184155&dest_page=product&docname=c00680695 Your link with the ad had this ID# at the bottom of the description SR1910NX So I went to Compaq webpage and went to customer support and typed that number in and very many details came up. That is a direct link and you will have a good deal if you get a midrange PCI-E video card and slap it in.
midrange PCI-E video card and slap it in. pci e ? a know of pci and agp .can u post a good card pci -e for this machine .and the hard drive on this pc is a >>120 GB SATA 3G (3.0 Gb/sec) >>is there a way i could put in a ata hard drive ? i have a brand new 300 gb lying around thanks

can i put a 1gb stick in this board and will it read it?or do i have to pair them up 512X2 >>>which one
yes if u put a 1gb it will read and if u put 2*512mb it will read them too u CAN have only a 1gb stick make sure its pc3200 ddr1
You can put in 1gb of pc3200 ram. Or you can put in 2 x 512mb ram. Youl have to do some reasearch to see if its dual channel. But i would pressume not. Best bet for you would to be buy a 1gb stick. Then if you need more you can always put some more in.
I'm not trying to be a jerk here but it is really easy to find the information you are looking for. The same page I linked previously, I clicked the product information link on the left side of the page. From there I clicked the link for motherboard specifications and this came up... Memory [bold]Dual-channel memory architecture 4 DDR1 DIMM (184-pin) sockets PC3200/PC2700 DDR1 DIMMs Non-ECC memory only Maximum memory: 4 x 1 GB DDR1 DIMMs, 4.0 GB total [/bold] This means you should see a performance increase if you use 2 of the same type memory. (2x512 or 2x1GB either way you like)
ok in the pc now is 2 x256=512.ok could i just slap in a 1 gb chip in the third slot and will i see a difference .then the total will be 1512
