I'm looking for some DDR2 RAM for a new build which I will be using for playing HD movies. I have been looking at some OCZ RAM http://www.ebuyer.com/product/154644 What do you think, and do you have any other recommendations ? Thanks for any help.
I'm trying to order my whole build from ebuyer. What do you think of Kingston HyperX http://www.ebuyer.com/product/148859 ?
If all you're doing is playing HD movies, you don't need PC8500 RAM, as you will see no performance difference whatsoever. Corsair XMS2 memory is more proven than Kingston HyperX, and is less sensitive to voltage, which makes it a lot more reliable to use.
Thanks for your help. Do you know if the intergrated graphics on the ASUS M4A78-VM, http://www.ebuyer.com/product/168321, would be good enough for full HD play, or should I also invest in a graphics card.
Integrated graphics are always pretty poor unless you are ok with playing games on low settings, and even that would be hard on newer games most likley. If all you want is to browse the net, and play some old school games integrated graphics may be suitable. For HD though, it would be a major fail.
The details on the eBuyer site say: VGA Integrated ATI Radeon HD3200 Max. shared memory: 256 MB Supports DVI-D with HDCP compliant with max. resolution 2560x1600 (@ 60Hz dual-link) Supports HDMI™ Technology with max. resolution up to 1920 x 1200 (1080P) Supports RGB with max. resolution 2048 x 1536 (@85Hz) Hybrid CrossFireX™ Support (For Windows Vista only) Dual VGA output support: RGB & DVI RGB & HDMI Which made me think it would be able to HD movies.
Nothing to do with the display output, it will produce 1080p but it will probably be laggy unless you upgrade it.
