I used verbatim up until about a month ago and never had any problems. I ran out so I borrowed a memorex from my roomate and gave it a go... seems to be working fine. Might want to consider that if you are looking for budget, but verbatim is the "best."

Use Verbatim because they are more gooderific than the others. Do not use Memorex if you are new to this, because they are the most worse-ified of all brands.

Memorex. 100+ not one coaster. Don't believe the hype!

Though I do believe that there are more than one ingredient in coaster cooking.

    Burner. Burning speed, etc...

But even cheap disks work if everything else is right!

i would recommend verbatims, but i have been really tempted to try phillips, i cant find any real feedback on them so not sure about the quality, there half the cost of verbatim.

You could always buy a small amount of the reported crap ones. Test it out.

True. Memorex, Ridata, Aone, TDK, Maxell, TuffDisc, OfficeMax, Imation, etc, etc. They all will work, but they all have issues that premium discs such as Verbatim & Taiyo-Yuden NEVER encounter. So educate yourself a bit, read up on it and DO believe the hype!

I used verbatims for 2 years and i had maybe 5 coasters out of 300 dics and they were due to USER ERROR not faulty disc.

I tried Memorex 50 pack using the same burner as i have used for all my Verbatims and out of 50 discs i had 30+ coasters and then the ones that do work cant be read half the time on my 360 and on my friends too. So i will NEVER buy a memorex EVER again after that waste of money. since then i have gotten more verbatims and i went thru and entire 40 pack with ZERO problems at all.

    Try Memorex.

Burn with Imgburn at 2.4 burn speed. Run the file through ABGX first.

I've never had a problem. Plus, the Memorex disks can be found at any store. Usually for about $1 each for a 50 pack.

Maybe people start having problems with scratching. maybe they are more prone to damage. Don't know. I only handle mine by the edges and always store them when not in use.

They have played every time, and my burns with these disks have worked every time.

just wait till your laser burns out from straining to read those for so long. it will happen sooner or later.
anyone with an older console is going to have problems reading those discs at some point. every samsung drive and hitachi i have tried them in took at least 5 tries to read the dsic and then it usually fails in the middle of the game

Time will tell. It could burn out -- but it's kind of like replacing a lightbulb because it's old. When it goes out, replace it.

Most folks don't own a meter, so they try and adjust without getting the resistance reading. This is where you're just shooting in the dark...
