okay lately ive been having some problems with my PC.every now and then i get a BSOD saying DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and at the bottom it says VIAMRAID.SYS i thought maybe its my hard drive since it mentions the SATA driver when i get the BSOD but ive run all the diagnostic progs on it and they all say its fine. Theres also another problem ive been having. Sometimes my PC wont boot at all. i press the power button, the light comes on, the fans spin once and then evrything stops but the light stays on, i thought it was an issue with my graphics card as it seemed to boot every time when it wasnt plugged in. but then it started working with it in again so i had to cancel that out. so now im thinking its got to be my motherboard thats causing all the problems since the BSOD mentions my MOBOs SATA controller and im having boot trouble, also it always picks up my DDR400 as DDR333. Is there anyway i can find out for sure. i only seem to get the BSODs when im using the SATA drive for booting i dont have any issues with it as a secondary drive
thanks for repying DDP ive tried it with no cables and all cables (im pretty used to trouble shooting in this way) . unfortunately i cant test out the HD anywhere else because im the only person i know that actually has SATA on there mobo. ive tried it both the SATA channels on my board but it doesnt make any difference. I still think it has to be my mobo though due to the booting and memory detection problems im having. what do you think about those?
