what does a crossover cable look like

    I have a large nework type cable that i bought ages ago. I cant remember if it is a crossover cable or a straight one. Is there way to identify want it is by looking at the cable markings or anything

    That picture does not really help him does it? you can't see the wires!!

    If you take the ends of the cable and put them together, have a look at the coloured wires inside, if they look identical it is a straight through, if the colours are on opposite sides then it is a cross over :)
