After decrypting, then 'shrink'ing a DVD, what does finalizing mean?
What else needs to be done?

    Hi there,

Let's see if I get this right :)

When you are burning data to a media, you are making 1 session on the disk. After you are done burning your data, you need to:

Close thie session, to be able to read it on PC drives, DVD players etc...

You can close a session, but leave the disk open.
This means you can add an other session later.

With DVD players, you can only have 1 session, and the disk must be closed. Meaning you cannot write to the disk anymore, even if it's not full.

Understood..thank you, so what else do I need to do to 'close' the disk? After Shrink/Nero is done, I'm not really given an option to close or leave open a session. Please advise.

    thank you

    Hi,

Unless you create a MultiSession (CD-R) it should/will CLOSE THE DISK automaticly.

    Roxio let's you choose
    ----------------------
    Close Session, Leave Disk Open
    Close Session, Close Disk

Nero I think will close the disk unless you create a multisession, it's been a while :)

VSO CopyToDVD same thing, unless you make a MultiSession, it will close the disk.
