I have been gathering information for several weeks now on how to backup my home dvds. I got decrypter, dvd43, and shrink. I finally took the plunge and started the process off. The encrypting was about 3/4 of the way through when I got a DVD Decrypter message that said On-the-fly IFO/BUP file patching failed! File name; vts-14-0.BUP Size: 133,120 bytes Reason: PatchIFO failed Does anyone no what that means, is it to do with the DVD itself or is out of date software, or just a one off error etc?

you could try FILE mode, if Decrypter barfs at the same file later, you can always select just that file and persever 'til Decrypter drags the file off. This is what i do for the odd dirty/corrupt disc anyway, it's worked a couple time for me.
So can I decrypt the whole DVD in file mode, as opposed to ISO read, or just the funny file? Is there a time difference in the process?
i'm no expert on Decrypter as hardly ever need to use it, but when i do i use FILE mode to either do the whole disc or just 'main movie & ifo files' or whatever the option is called. No reason really, I'm just a creature of habit. No time difference i don't think
