I must say I am a big fan of the 5 Hour Energies. Very potent energy rush in a small container. And how the drinks affect you really depends on how sensitive to caffeine you are. More sensitive the drinks will be/seem more effective. Less sensitive to caffeine it may not seem like the drinks are doing anything for you.

Coca-Cola's Vault is what I drink to get me going in the mornings. If you remember Surge,it's the same stuff, but different name. Surge was taken off the market yrs ago because of the high caffeine content. They brought it back and renamed it Vault, and all of a sudden it's an energy drink-go figure?

Vault tastes the same no matter what you eat/drink with it or what time of day it is. 1 before work,1 at work, and I'm good to go the rest of the day. These $2.20 12 pk cokes sales this week,I'm well stocked up!!

I haven't had coffee in years!

coffee.. strong black and no nasty additives.. the list of unpleasant chemicals in these energy drinks is scary... BUT .. it's easier just to train your brain and body to stay awake longer.. 4 hours sleep in 48 is enough. I stay awake for 3 or 4 days on a run then sleep about 12 hours

Jet Alert is good. Can buy it at most drug stores or gas stations. Only a couple bucks for a bottle, pill form. Take two and your good for atleast 6 more hours. I'm not easily affected by coffee or anything else, but Jet Alert seems to do the trick.

panadol tablets or other similar painkillers seem to work well,i was in hospital over a 5 day period with a deep gash on my left foot,i would've been able to sleep if it wasn't for the roomy snoring so baddly & during the day there was too much noise in the corridor etc, basicly i never got any sleep till i was discharged & got home, the best i could while in there was close my eyes & relax as much as poss as for the op i was awake while the doc worked since i didn't want to get put under, very freaky experiance chatting with the surgery staff while op was in progress..lol..

Yeah, being awake during an operation is freaky as hell. And your just laying there hoping you don't hear "oops" or "oh shit". Afterwards, just hope you don't hear "does anybody know where I put the scapel?" :)

Coca-Cola with extra sugar, now that's good! (you have to mix it into warm soda, then refrigerate the mix...stir, do not shake!)

Absynth keeps you up if you don't drink too much of it...but you won't feel like gaming or working.

I agree with peasinapod that 5hr energy is an a** kicker!! I took one after not sleeping for about a day cause I had to do something in the next hour, it didn't stop kicking me for about 10 hours. and with no sugar crash like it advertises. Try one.

That stuff has overdose levels of vitamin B in it. I drank half a bottol, and was curled over with stomach pain for about 1/2 an hour. Some people seem to like it, but start slow if you don't want terrible pain.
