I am looking at this product: http://www.kicktrading.ca/product_i...id=46&osCsid=e4c6b2ccefd660e567d0bb4edf3457d4 Is this compatable for playing gba games on the ds lite? Can I use this later if I buy a passme type device for the ds? Is there a place I can get it for cheaper? Does 1Gb mean I can store games up to 1Gb or multiple games like 4 256Mb games? Thanks!!
Well, haven't seen that in a while. To answer your question, it plays GBA games flawlessly whereas it can't run DS games. As for the 1 gigabit, you can store up to 4 256 megabit games like you asked. The guys that make it say they're working on DS game support, but never gave an actual date. Supposedly, the original EFA 256Mb and 512Mb can run most DS games, but I never bothered trying with my EFA 256Mb so I couldn't tell you how well it worked. If you're looking for a budget priced unit that plays GBA and DS games, take a look at the EZIV Lite. My brother's been using his and loving every minute of it. Check out my guide for more info on it, since I've been keeping track of any problems that I and others have had with the EZIV adapters. Also, just to let you know, the M3 adapters are the top of the line adapters for DS, but they're also the most expensive. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/359076
thanks for the reply!! So with a ds lite this is all I need to run ds roms, correct? (I looked at it and it wouldn't be much more to run ds so I figured why not..) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820183154 http://www.winsunx.com/list.php?mod=720 http://www.winsunx.com/list.php?mod=629 Also, would this work instead of the one you suggested? http://www.winsunx.com/list.php?mod=740 I am looking into that because of the form factor. I will not be ordering for a week so is it a good product? Thanks again for the reply.
The Supercard works great with DS games, but has issues with GBA games for whatever reason. Slowdown is a big issue with those. If you're worried about form factor, check the EZIV Lite microSD (transflash), since it's the DS Lite version of the EZIV miniSD. Also, Winsunx has the EZIV (minSD) listed as an EZIV Lite and they have the actual EZIV Lite listed as EZIV TF (microSD) or something similar.
Ok, well what do you recommend I get? Playing gba games is a big deal to me, so is formfactor. I appriciate the help a lot and I can't wait to get this all sorted. P.S. Would this be a good combo: EZ4 Lite TF(MicroSD) - $50 Ninjapass Media Launcher - $16 CORSAIR 512MB MiniSD Flash Media Model CMFSDMINI-512 - Retail - $15 So thats about what I want to spend plus around 10 for the shipping so thats $100. Also, correct me if I am wrong but the EZ4 has video watching capabilities, correct? thanks! P.S.S. Does winsunx's warrenty cover the ez4 and ninjapass if I order it from them?
Actually, I didn't even realize Winsunx had a warranty at all. According to their warranty statement, it covers whatever you order for 14 days starting the day they ship it. Meaning, by the time you get it, you'll only have about half of that left, and chances are that unless there's a problem right out of the box, that you aren't going to be to able to use that warranty. As for what you chose, I suggest getting either an EZPass3 or MK4 instead of the Ninjapass, since I have yet to hear of it's level of compatibility. If you really want it though, Winsunx would be able to tell you if it'll work or not, since they warned me beforehand about the Passcard3 not working with it at that point in time. Also, you'll need a microSD (aka transflash or TF), not a miniSD. A 512 megabyte microSD runs for about $25 on Newegg. Additionally, Winsunx charges $18.81 for shipping to the US for orders .5 kg or less. If you aren't in the US, check this link to calculate shipping. http://www.winsunx.com/index.php?mod=ExpressCost And yes, the EZ4 Lite supports video playback while using Moonshell.
so if I get this card instead: http://www.winsunx.com/list.php?mod=737 and I get this flash memory instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820134049 I should be all set? P.S. Is winsunx 100% reliable because at 14 this is a lot of money for me.
Yeah, you should be all set. I'm surprised that that Kingston dropped $10 in 2 months though, as that looks like the same one my brother bought. It works great, so don't take that as a sign or anything. I didn't have any problems with Winsunx, and I've read about others having problems with M3/G6 purchases, but nothing else. As long as you keep up with their e-mails, you should be fine. Also, make sure you use PayPal, so if anything goes horribly wrong, you can force a refund.
ok, thanks a lot, I will be buying this all tomarrow via paypal thanks to your advice, I really appricate all your help. if you ever need a favor I would be happy to help you out
No problem Once you get it, take a look at the guide I wrote for the EZIV and EZIV Lite. It might make things a bit easier for you when you set it up.
