I have just got a new laptop (my first one) and when I try to play a dvd it tells me to buy a dvd decoder anyone know where I can download one that is simple to install and work with, I have windows vista home basic if that helps. Thanks in advance.
If it's a "new" laptop, it should have come with DVD player software. If it's just "new to you", there are several free DVD players out there. Find someone who builds PCs, they're bound to have a spare copy of WinDVD lying around from a DVD drive
Thanks for the reply. when I try to play a dvd it says windows can not play dvd because a compatible dvd decoder is not installed on your computer can anything be done to play a dvd without having to buy software. Thanks again
