Hi. My DVD drive isn't recognizing DVD-R's but will recognize a DVD-R that has been formatted to DVD-Video. I'm using Windows XP professional and just the built-in software for windows xp which is nothing basically. I want to be able to burn stuff to DVD's so what software should I use to do this. Preferably something easy to use and low-memory with no spyware. Thanks.

    DVD FLICK DVD FLICK http://www.dvdflick.net/

this is free software it has dozen of different settings, it has no other software packaged with it or virus's. it is a tad slow and takes up much of your processor priority, however it is much better than any other software you can pay for, great quality and perfect play back

it could also be the drivers for your drives,
go to the device manager by right clicking on my computer and selecting the hardware tab, then hit device manager and under "DVD/CDROM" find your dvd player and update the drivers
