What does unlocking do, what are it's benefits and what i an IMEI? reply Most Mobile phones are tied to a service provider in Britain Ie;Vodaphone,Orange,Virgin Etc; the unlock code which as it says unlocks the phone so as you can use other service providers instead of the one that it is tied to but word of coution if you are renting the M phone you are stuck to that service provider. you need to own the Phone in order to unlock it!. the IME No. is the distinct nomumber given to that phone it identifies it you need that number in order to unlock your phone.
