    Hi,

Im trying to burn an SVCD and after I select that it asks what aspect ratio it should use and im confused on which one is the correct one. I have a 19inch TV and I live in the US.

If anyone knows which one I should choose out of this list please reply...

    Aspect Ratio: 1:1 (VGA)
    4:3 525 Line (NSTC)
    4:3 525 Line (NSTC, 704x480)
    4:3 625 Line (PAL)
    4:3 625 Line (PAL, 704x576)
    16:9 525 Line (NSTC)
    16:9 625 Line (PAL)
    4:3 Display
    16:9 Display
    2.11:1 Display

Also could someone tell me what Interlace is & would you use that on a film?

    Thanks!

4:3 525 Line (NSTC, 704x480) or 16:9 525 Line (NSTC) should be fine for you depending on widescreen preferences, if you're using the wizard, the default options should be ok. Interlacing a case where half of an image is drawn in one pass and the other half drawn in another pass but it happens so fast your eyes cant tell the difference (well they can but for argument sake, they cant). Odds are you will want non-interlaced

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I have been using 4:3 525 Line (NSTC) and it seems to work fine..does it really matter which one I use of those 3? Is their a difference?

I think you are confused about what this is asking. it is asking you what ratio the movie was done in. TMpgenc does not automatically know the aspect ratio and you will need to select it. So, if you rent a widescreen movie or an amaphoric one, the selection would need to be 16:9. When you select the incorrect one, the objects on the screen are either stretched or compreseed.
