Okay so here is the run down i was flashing an Hitachi. Laser went bad yada yada yada.. So I ended up getting a benq and was switching them out well I was using Jungleflasher. When I was spoofing the benq i could not get it to work so I went and got a raid card and could not get that to work. So then I seen I needed to install PortIo32... so I did that and boom it worked and this is what happen next... I was using a guide and I was this far 19.Go to the 'MTK Flash 32' Tab. Your Benq should be recognized under 'Drive Properties' 20.Click 'Benq-Un-Lock' and wait for it to finish. 21.Click 'Device ID' and wait for it to finish. 22.Click 'Erase' wait for it to finish erasing and verifying. Okay so everything was working up to i hit Erase. When i did that it did its little ... like it was working then it locked up!!! Great! So then I ended up having to close it after waiting about 10 mins for it to start working again. When I look down at my Xbox the middle light is now flashing like when I got the Hitachi in mode b. I did not think anything about that yet well I powered off the xbox and when powered on the middle light is still flashing. I reopened Jungleflasher and now its not finding my drive again and also its not finding my RAID card that the drive was hooked up to. So I look in my device manager and its not there anymore also. Can someone help me lol. I'm not having any luck
You will need to remove the driver for your SATA card: 1. Disable VIA card in Device Manager. 2. Go to C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers and remove "viamraid.sys" or "vsmraid.sys". 3. Re-enable VIA card in Device Manager. 4. Re-Boot PC. Once you have done that, turn the XBOX 360 on and load up JF. Go ahead and prepare your firmware (spoof Hitachi info to BenQ ix1.6), then go to MTKFlash and select the same SATA port. Click "Intro/Device ID" and JF will come up with a prompt. Click OK and then shut the BenQ drive off for 1 second and then turn it back on (may have to unplug power cable from the back of the drive). You should get good flash chip properties (status 0x73). Click Write and it will start to write the firmware, verify and should be OK.
Dont mean to question the word of god (leerage) but I didnt think you had to disconnect the power to get in to vendor mode on a Benq, thought it was just lite on's. I have done 2 before and Im pretty sure I didnt have to do that. EDIT : Or is this something you need to do if your flash goes tits up Another EDIT : Leerage, it seems your pics have vanished from your tutorial Linkie
You sure about that? As i said, I have done 2 following Leerages instructions (which dont mention power cycle) and I never had to do it. Only time I have ever had to do it was with a lite on. Also Leerage, ignore my prev comments about your images, there back now. Must of been Works network blocking them or summit.
Okay thanks so much and it did work thank god lol or you what ever comes first. Its a bit of relief since all I been having is problems with this xbox.... I did have to power cycle for it to read the drive. once again thanks so much
Glad to hear you got it working. Just looking over leerages guide and it seems you dont have to power cycle for a stock drive but you do have to one one thats already flashed.
lol then I got the red rings of death after I tured it back on a little bit ago great lol but i got it working I have no luck
might want to double check that. not trying to pick on you but i have never been able to do a STOCK benQ without the powercycle. no offence but you may have it wrong or maybe backwards.
Sorry pal, think your the one to get it wrong Linkie (same linkie as before), show me where in the guide it mentions power cycle the drive?
VIA with no drivers does not require a power cycle with Stock BenQ. Simply click BenQ Unlock. I can't say for sure with onboard SATA (nForce etc) as I don't have it. And VIA with no drivers for a FLASHED BenQ, you can still use BenQ unlock. If the BenQ unlock fails, then you would have to use the "Intro/Device ID" then you may or may not have to power cycle. I think it all boils down to what chipset you have. Only time I have ever had to power cycle is click "Intro/Device ID" on STOCK firmware.
