Hi, OMG, Its so frustrating, All of sudden yesterday my pc starts and then all of sudden shuts off with no blue screen or anything and my pc says "no signal" ok I'm thinkings its my video but why? I didnt touch the hardware or anything and BANG, it did turned out to be the video card(geforce 5700fx), so i had to switch back to my old card,(radeon 8500) and then it keep freezing, and than the blue screen of death starts to come on, so what i did was when starting i press F8 and then chose "enable VGA" and it worked (woot) and but the screen was huge!, so i put it back to normal, so it froze and then the blue screen came again!, so i had to "enable vga" again just to get on the desktop or else it WONT no matter what, so then i install the driver for the radeon and now it works again. so can someone please explain to me why it happened and how do i prevent it from happening again? Thanks! p.s, i just notice that on the blue cable which is the monitor cable, there seems to be one pin missing, does it effect the pc or anything in anyway?
Sounds like the 5700 went South and you've got driver issues. Try this, start up in safe mode, remove all Nvidia drivers and uninstall your new card in device manager. Reboot the computer, windows will use it's own default driver for the new card, install the correct drivers for the Radeon card, reboot again, adjust your screen resolution and let us know the outcome. Good luck.
Everything is working fine already, i was just wondering like, why it happened all of sudden? So, the card is no longer works then? Thanks
Well, that I can't explain, had you installed any new hardware or software? Things like that can sometimes cause driver conflicts. You could always re-install the 5700 and see if it still works,if it does go to the Nvidia website and download the newest drivers from them.Just make sure you remove any Nvidia drivers on the computer first, reboot and then install the new drivers. Or you can do as ddp suggested,if you have another computer handy. Hope this helps and good luck!
