Since all CDs are digital anyway, what is this digital Video CD or digital VCD? Thanks in advance for your help.
A VCD is simply a video CD. Video/Audio is captured or ripped to the computer hard drive, encoded to either Mpeg1 (VCD)or 2 (SVCD) and then burned to a CD. The CD is then played in a DVD player that is capable of such format playback. There is a great site http://www.vcdhelp.com that explains the process and a better description and definition than the one I provided.
