I am trying to convert a DRM video and it keeps telling me there is no virtual sound driver installed. What is a virtual sound driver and does Windows 10 have it? If it does not, where can I download a free one? I would appreciate any help. Thank you.
it doesnt appear that windows has it.i googled it and it came up with all kinds of stuff.ive never dealt with this so im going to recommend you google virtual sound driver and see what turns up that will help you as this is the first time ive heard of it.lol
I have looked it up. Can't find any free. Thought maybe someone here might know about it. Thank you for your help.
hey kookie, what is this file you are dealing with?there may be another way to handle it.if i could see the file i think i could help.
It is a m4v DRM video from iTunes. I bought it and downloaded it, but now I can't change to MKV. I need it changed so I can watch on any one of my video programs (such as VLC). I have, tried iSoft, Winx, Handbrake, and others. Some say they can't because it is a file they don't recognize and some say they need a Virtual Sound Driver.
you know you have to strip the drm before any conversion?that might be your problem.this is a slippery slope we are on here due to forumn rules against piracy so i cant really help much.ive converted quite a few of those m4v files with handbrake and never got asked about that sound driver, but they werent drm protected..have a look here. https://www.leawo.org/tunescopy/purchase.html and here. https://www.leawo.org/tutorial/can-i-remove-drm-from-itunes-movies-with-handbrake-1372.html
only technically.lol.good old apple doesnt want you using any other devices but theirs.check the links and strip the drm from the file and bobs your uncle.
