what is alcohol 120%

    i am trying to copy my friends' cd collections to my computer and a friend told me i need iso's and alcohol 120% but never explained what i needed them for. can someone explain these to me?

    To copy your friends audio CDs to your hard drive in MP3, use audiograbber or EAC.

    Alchohol will take the CD in your drive and make an ISO file on your harddrive. That ISO file is an exact image of the CD. It can also burn the ISO to a blank CD-R, or CD-RW, giving you an exact copy of the original. You can also mount the ISO to look like a CD drive to windows. It will go much faster then a normal CD, but you will have to keep the ISO on your harddrive.

    when you say copy cd collection do you mean audio or data cd's

    alcohol has a virtual drive which can mount an image as the previous person said but if your talking music collections it would be better to use a ripper to convert to mp3.
