I am running Windows XP Pro. When I start smart ripper I get a message "aspi missing" What is this? Since the program runs normally after clicking OK do I need it or should I just link to the batch file that eliminates this message?

ASPI is the communication layer between Windows and your CD/DVD devices (including RW ones) it used to be just for SCSI at first, but when IDE drives came out, it was made to support them as well.

The best and with least problems version is 4.60 Build 1021, I suggest you AVOID using anything else.
