hi i m new here... so far there are 2 methods to boot games over Lan without modchips if m right i wanna ask is it easier using a maxdrivepro or PSO method? i need to buy one of these 2 anyway which method need less steps for booting a iso over lan ? thx
I like the MaxDrive Pro,but the PSO method isn't a bad method either. It would be easier to get ahold of the MaxDrive Pro,because if you go with the PSO method it has to be PSO 1&2 not the Plus version.
ok thx just last question with maxdrive pro , can i also play backups(isos) over lan or does it have to be mini dvds ? can i also play homebrew stuffs with the maxdrive ? like snes9x ? edit: i mean if i put the stuffs in the maxdrive itself not on the dvd? it has 40mb right ?
With MaxDrive Pro you would have to launch a modified bios(GCOS,Ninja etc...Bios) to stream or play your backup .DOL or .ISO files(it would have to be on a mini-dvd or full size dvd if you get the replacement top). You will have to aquire a broadband adapter no matter which method you use to stream your backups. The modem adapter will not work it has to be a broadband adapter.I'm not positive with homebrew on the MaxDrive Pro such as SNES9X,but it would have to be in .DOL format and as you mentioned would have to be a certain size. The sd card method is a good investment to go into, just make sure you get ahold of a broadband adapter as you will need this no matter what method you use.I'm not saying to buy from this site, but here is what it looks like alright bro http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=52&products_id=776& and you can use a sdloader program for it.
The only method of playing your backups with lan is through the PSO method, which is known as streaming games. The only other method besides this is to put everything on disc.Take your time and look at all the possibilities you can do with each method, and then decide which one suites you best.
yeah i ll go for the maxdrivepro cause i dont have any lan adapter for the cube neither and i ve heard the are some slowdowns 1) -can i also play homebrew stuffs with the maxdrive ? like snes9x ? edit: i mean if i put the stuffs in the maxdrive itself not on the dvd? it has 40mb right ? 2) -is it difficult to change the "Replacement tops" do i only need to take out the 3 screws bottom of the cube and then switch the case ? -or ir there are there other stuffs which need to be done ? -any risk or bricking the cube ?
It's like this bro,you see the broadband adapter is used to create a backup of your game without it there is no other way.I really can't answer the first question, but on your second question it's not hard to do at all.You see there are four screws on the bottom of the cube, you can use the melt bic pen method for the screws on the bottom or get the replacement top that you want with a gamebit screwdriver.Once you get the screws out I would suggest replacing them with some small phillips screws for easy access later on or so forth that is if you use the bic pen method. If you use the gamebit method you can keep the original screws in and use the gamebit from there on.Your right though when you stream games it lags real bad,but you can stream one of the hacked bios files like GCOS,Ninja etc...and play them on disc with no lag at all(referring to the PSO method of course).I think any method you go with will work, just depends on what you want.I honestly would say the modchips are the best method to use and provide the best features out of all the methods described, just depends on what you want bro.
