I recently noticed a virus I got from a file that my wife downloaded. It was called brenkolang and was a dos based application. The file penetrated ALL attached hard drives (even those on a wireless network) and any even momentarily plugged in.

    symptoms
..The biggest problem with this virus is that you can not find a source file to neutralize. It duplicates itself all over every hard drive. It creates a copy file of every folder on your hard drive and inside each copy is a screen capture of the folder itself.

..It will not let you download anything!!!! Every time a download starts the computer restarts.

..If you click shut down computer in the start menu your computer instantly restarts.

..It will not let you install any programs. The computer will restart

..Instantly infects and computers you plug in your flash drive to if your flash drive gets contaminated. (This happens without you even knowing most of the time) I might have accidentally found this out at work...

these are the main problems. The computer restarts basically all the time. I have only been able to find about three links online about this plague and they have all been foreign blogs.. Most of them are in Chinese and have to be translated by google. The only way I could fix the problem was to flash all of my computers, set up a new network, and dump all of my hard drives.

That is exactly what I had. I originally got it on my laptop, then it went over my network to my desktop, then my external hard drive, then my xbox, then my flash drive when I plugged it in. The link took care of it for me. Thanks for the help.
