OK, so when i open my WOrld of warcraft game i can barely move my dude so i Cntrl+alt+del to see whats going on and it's telling me that WOW uses 100% of my cpu power.... i did some research and found out that turning off the index utility it would free up cpu power ( since i;ve had that prepdump.exe appear in task manager and suck up 100% of cpu power as well) after doing this my computrer does run faster, however whenever i open WOW it still uses 100% of my cpu, this problem just started about 2 weeks ago, I ran WOW just fine for over a year and now i can't even play the game at all, i dont know what to do and the people of this site have helped me a lot in the past so i figured i'd give it a shot to see if anyone had any idea why all of a sudden 100% of cpu power is used to run 1 game. PS-system specs (I dont know if this will help or not in awnsering my question but here itis) AMd athalon 1.8g, 1.5 gigs of ram, Radeon 9700 video card, 80g 7200 hard drive speed.
no with the drivers, and yes with the wow patching, they usually come out with a patch every 2 weeks or so, but no one else has had this issue since the latest patch =( Also today i've been playing dawn of war and starcraft and it's doign the same thing to me... I wonder if my cpu is just fried or something...although using the web browser or dvd burners i have no issues what so ever which leads me to beleive that it's not just a junk cpu or i wouldent be able to do those things .... right? I really have no clue what could be causing this.
