I use avid liquid, have only ever used Pinnacle products. Thought studio 8 was way easy to use and wish it would have worked as it was supposed to, however it was way unstable and things you were supposed to be able to do, you couldn't. I now use AVID LIQUID 7. I was just wondering. Is there anything more stable, and user freindly with all the bells and whistles. I do a huge mix of stills and video. I like all the transitions they have available with the Hollywood FX. I have also found that the stills are a bit more work to incorporate than they should be. I also don't like the way you have to import all the transitions, they're not right at your fingertips like they were in studio 8. So. I guess my question is really. Is there anything as easy to use as Studio 8 was with the capabilities of liquid 7. (more transitions, better analog capture, HDV capabilities etc.)

what is the primary feature/selling point of each? I really like the excessive amounts of transitions with liquid, however, I will look into these regardless. Thanks for help.

both premiere pro and xpress are full-blown professional editing systems. other apps like pinnacle, nero vision, vegas video, and what not are all consumer based. these apps have all the bells and wistles you could possible imagine. they are, however, a bit more expensive.

Well I would Put "Sony Vegas Video 6" in the professinal Catagory it has Most of the Same Features as Premier and it also has 6 Channel Surround Mixer and Dolby 5.1 encodeing without haveing to Buy extra plugins....

Liquid edition is Really Supposed to be used only with Liquid Edition Hardware as May of the Effects are Hardware accelerated by the Liquid Hardware so if you just have the Software without the Liquid Hardware then i would use something else as it isn"t very stable with other Editing Hardware....
