Can someone explain just what is needed to take advantage of Blu-Ray's uncompressed sound on games and movies please?

Explain all cables, sound devices and speakers needed.

I want to know what I'd need so I could sit back and have my ears exploding from an overload of audio-joy !!!

Someone said a 7.1 Channel Audio Receiver that can process HDMI. But what else is needed? Does an expensive 7.1 Surround Sound Speaker System with huge Subwoofer also have to be used?

    Please help!

Any receiver that accepts hdmi v1.3 inputs, this allows for Dolby trueHD and also the new DTS HD format as well as process 1080p video through an HDMI cable. A subwoofer is not required but it does bring out the movie theater feel with the extra amplified bass.

or if you have 5.1 analog inputs you can use analog outputs on a player or computer. updated drivers may be needed
