My Panasonic NV-GS5 has a Sensor Resolution of 800k. Is that the same as like 0.8 megapixels? (Sorry i dont know the terms about this stuff)

Because if it is, i'm wondering if i can get a better video quality out of my Mobile fone (2 megapixels) than my Camcorder (if it is 0.8 megapixels).

    Any suggestions guys?

    Thanks

There are different definitions of the term "resolution." The format resolution is given in pixels and is fixed by the recording format. So, standard NTSC video has an image size of 720 x 480 and PAL has an image size of 720 x 576, The format resolution does not take into account the ability of the lens, image sensor and Digital Signal Processor (DSP) to resolve fine details in a picture. So the picture quality can vary even though the image sizes may be the same.
