    ok i tried searching the forums but the search feature sucks so im starting a new thread on this.

    I am looking for opinions on what would be the best burning software for everyday use for burning movies,data, music. I have been with nero sense version 5 and have had some good luck with it but due to everything they are adding to it lately it may be time for a change. heck it almost takes like 2 minutes of your install time to uncheck all the stuff you don't want nero to install now.

    IHMO, N-ero is junk for any video editing.

    There is free software out there, but for consumer grade software, I think that Roxio far surpasses anything out there.

    For burning data and movies onto dvd's, I use imgburn, which IMHO is one of the best out there, and it's also free.

    @TC,

    Everyone else is answering your question at face value, but one thing bothers me.

    Burning is only one half (or one third) of the equation and assumes that your source material has been edited and is of a size that is smaller than the destination media or in a format that can be natively written to the target media (i.e. .iso file)

    Everyone has their favorite DVD burning tool. I use three different ones but it's tied to editing and source format.

    I am just curious as to what you're really asking?

    You seem to have all your answers and don't require any more people trying to help you out.

    Comparing Nero and Imgburn is like comparing oranges and tangerines, but I guess you already know that too. I guess you don't need any more attempts at help from me.

    I have used Imgburn many times, but it isn't for editing video.

    Stick with your N-ero, but what do you mean that the Roxio software is dumbed down? What version did you use?

    The only dumbed down Roxio software that I have seen is the versions that come with a computer or DVD burner.
